Among its many monuments it is worth highlighting the ancient Hippodrome of Constantine, Santa Sophia, built in the 4th century, Topkapı Palace, Hagia Irene, Cisterns & others which are part of the humanity herritage of UNESCO

About the Tour

  • Explore the hidden historical places (5 hours) walking – half day tour with a professional guide. Your guide will share the long history of İstanbul and it’s importance with you.
  • Feel like a local and be happy by learning about History of Byzantine, Ottoman and today of Istanbul.
  • Tour starts at 09:00 am in Beyazıt.  Near Beyazıt /Grand bazaar tram stop.  Ends at 14:00 pm, in front of spice baazar in Eminönü / Galata bridge.
  • Available everyday (except fridays)

  • Once when you arrive Beyazıt / Grand bazaar tram stop, next to the tram stop there is a pharmacy named AYHAN ECZANE. We will meet you next to the AYHAN eczanesi (pharmacy)

  • NOTE : Ladies while visiting the mosques, should cover their shoulders and knees because they can not enter to the mosques with no-covered hair, shoulders & knees
    You may carry your own scarf to cover your head and it would be better if you wear trousers or a long skirt.
    Gentlemen should dress to cover their shoulders and below the knees.
  • The Suleymaniye Mosque is one of the most important monuments in Istanbul as a symbol of Ottoman power and influence in the city’s history and culture for centuries. Several prominent figures from Ottoman history are buried in the Suleymaniye Mosque, including Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Hurrem Sultan. You can also explore the beautiful gardens of the mosque and enjoy its complex calligraphy, panoramic Golden Horn views of the city from the top of the mosque hill.
  • Visit Kadınlar pazarı (woman baazar/market) which was built in 1908.  The reason of named women baazar is because the poor women of the city would collect the vegetables and fruits that could not be sold to the rich people and were thrown away by the tradesmen, and sell them in the small stalls They opened next to the market.
  • Visit the magnificent Fatih mosque which ıs the first mosque built during the Ottoman age in Istanbul and located on top of one of its hills, Named Fatih mosque in honor of conqueror of Constantinople (Fatih Sultan Mehmed II)
  • Visit the tomb of Fatih Sultan Mehmed and his wife Gül-bahar hatun.
    Visit the most conservative neighborhood where religious people live in İstanbul which is named çarşamba (means wednesday)
  • Visit Chora Mosque (which used to be a monastery, considered one of the most beautiful examples of a Byzantine churches that can be seen as a mosque today , it’s located in the Edirnekapı district of İstanbul within the walls of the Theodosian wall and near one of it’s gate.

What is expected

  • Visit Süleymaniye Mosque, take pictures of aqueduct of Valens, Visit women’s market, visit the shops in the women’s market and taste herbed cheese brought from the Southeast of Turkey.
  • Take a sit have a break to have some pastry börek with Türkish tea and feel yourself as local.
  • Then we will continue our way towards Fatih mosque, Çarşamba ( conservative) neighborhood and last stop is Chora mosque / museum.
  • Note this tour is not available on fridays becauce mosques are closed to visitors on fridays for prayers until afternoon.
  • After Chora mosque we will take a public bus to the end point of tour.
  • The tour is for a minimum of 2 people
  • İf there are not more than 2 people for the tour, your reservation will be postponed to another date or your money will be refunded without any cut/ deduction.
